There is also plenty to discover around the farm in the natural outdoor area, in the woods, meadows and fields. For example, early in the morning or in the evening, roe deer, stags and the like dare to come almost right up to the front door. During the day, falcons and buzzards swoop boldly through the air.
Would you like to lend a hand during your holiday in Sterzing (South Tyrol)? Throughout the year, there are various activities from everyday farm life that you can experience together with us at the Schallerhof. Of course, the activities on offer change depending on the season. Just let us know if you are interested! If you get bored, you can browse through the farm’s own selection of books. There is also a varied programme of events in Sterzing.
In the stable
Feeding sheep, milking goats, stroking cows, collecting eggs, cuddling cats … There’s always something to do with the animals on the farm. Come and join us!
Haymaking
It takes at least four days of fine summer weather to turn lush grass into dry hay. This ensures that our animals have enough food even in winter.
Nature
Whether on a hike through the countryside or from the comfort of your balcony: Take a break at the Schallerhof and experience nature with all your senses.
Into the kitchen!
Would you like to make your own butter or bake sourdough bread? With pleasure! On request, we can let interested guests in on one or two secrets of South Tyrolean farmhouse cooking.
Active holiday
Skiing on the nearby Rosskopf, speedy toboggan rides, hiking from mountain pasture to mountain pasture or climbing a summit and enjoying the view, cycling … There’s never a dull moment around Sterzing.
